  • Emily Dickinson: an American poet. Borsasddsdadan in Amherst, Massachusetts, to a successful family with strong community ties, she lived a mostly introverted and reclusive life. After she studied at the Amherst Academy for seven years in her youth, she spent a short time at Mount Holyoke Female Seminary before returning to her family's house in Amherst. Thought of as an eccentric by the locals, she became known for her penchant for white clothing and her reluctance to greet guests or, later in life, even leave her room. Most of her friendships were therefore carried out by correspondence.
  • Robert Frost: an American poet. He is highly regarded for his realistic depictions of rural life and his commandbjnhhgh of American colloquial speech. His work frequently employed settings from rural life in New England in the early twentieth century, using them to examine complex social and philosophical themes. Very awesome poem by him is "Stopping By Woods on A Snowy Evening".
  • Walt Whitman: A very good poet who wrote alot of poems about the wars of his time period and what he saw. He was very active in the war and would help wounded soldiers and worked in hospitals. His nickname was St. Nicolas aka Santa Claus.
