Who else doesn't see this book as being all about Anna, and her romance? I'm surprised at how many people only see this as a romance novel dealing with adultery. I never thought Anna was really the main subject of this book as it was. Am I crazy or does anyone else see that to?

I have read this book many times over, and each time I find some part of the story more interesting than the last time. The more you come to know the characters and the way they all connect to one another, the more relevant and intriguing their stories become. I would whole heartedly agree that this is one of the greats of classic literature.

Here is a summary/Cliff Notes about Anna Karenina...I found it helpful especially since I didn't get the full novel from the library...I just read the ending on here:

I sat with the book for over two months but i had trouble getting through it and after 4 pages dedicated to Levin cutting grass i couldn't take it, so i gave it up. I feel so guilty about leaving the greatest novely ever written (arguably) half finished but figured that if i took 6 months to finish it, it would keep me away from other exciting books that i could have read. Perhaps some other time and place.

Been reading this book for the last three days. I picked it up because I wanted to read a classic and happened to notice that it was 'arguably the greatest novel ever written'. I'm not sure about that, but it has been a good read... although frustrating.

I also didn't expect it to be such a 'chick flick'.

I thought the ending fitting..after all it's a tragic tale of adultery..how else could it have ended?

I thought 3 or 4 months was a long time, but it seems it's going to take yet another week to get through the last few pages. I liked it, but it keeps getting slower and slower. Not to mention, I spent a month in hospital in the middle of it all!
