“I avoided this book for years when I was younger as I had a disdain for the 'classics' but now this is on of my top ten books of all time. It's just so very very good.”

In many ways, Jane is one of the most appealing heroines in all of fiction. She is intelligent but not beautiful, and although she lacks the advantages of her cousins, she never loses hope. Most of all, Jane has an unbreakable sense of her own self-worth.
Even if you dislike the writing style (and some people do find it boring), you will find yourself hoping that Jane finds the happy ending that she deserves.

“quite simply the best book ever”

Then I heard a gaggle of manly men dubbing it kickass. Turns out its a lurid, sexy potboiler as twisted as anything David Lynch ever imagined. Rochester is one of the great characters of all time, love him or despise him.”
