All other novels should be measured by this one. I, perhaps, have been as spellbound by other novels from time to time, but none of them left me as both lastingly charmed and fully satisfied. Jane Eyre writes some of the most original and captivating dialog I have ever read. I laughed outloud a...

Two quotes by Charlotte Bronte about Jane Austen: "Miss Austen is only shrewd and observant." "...Can there be a great artist without poetry?" Some people love an author who will describe a scene for 7 pages- I'm not one of those people.

The novel was a great contribution to literature, espectially for Charlotte Bronte's time. It concerns a lonely young woman, who finally finds love while working for Edward Rochester as a governess for his daughter. His reluctance, anger, and mysterious ways are further revealed later in the novel. Wonderful classic romance about finding love---and ultimately doing the right thing in the end.

English 560B: British Literature II - Another bildungsoman novel. I loved this book very much and read it during Spring Break, not being able to put it down.

Jane Eyre was my favorite read of the summer. I can't even to begin to explain why, except that Jane Eyre was a strong heroine and very likable. Mr. Rochester was not the average love interest either. The twists and turns made this a page turner, and I clap to Charlotte Bronte for her masterpiece.

I couldn't put this down! I was enamored with the story and wanted so much for Jane Eyre to find love and happiness. She is a great example of kindness and forgiveness. Definitely a character you can invest in.
