Morose and brooding are the two words that come to mind. It's well written and not boring by any means, but I was less than captivated. I'm 50% of the way through and I think I'm giving up on it.

What? Give it up? I don´t understand how you can´t like it. To understand the magic of the book you have to read it all. Like Heatcliff´s plead for Catherine´s ghost to come back, witout reading to book you can´t feel or understand his pain. I should end with some really clever point of view but I can´t think of any, hope you finish the book - it´s the right thing to do;)

That's a shame although I know from the experience of recommending it to people that it's not always everyone's cup of tea (although, it is my favourite book!). I think a lot of people have a difficult time relating to the characters - most really want to wring Catherine's neck. I just really like how it shows the beauty of the cyclical nature of life. Well, among other things. Anyway, sorry to hear you're weren't that into it!

Give up! Give up! This is by far the most boring book I've ever read. At the end all I thought was "Who cares?' Ugh!

Shame. Your head may not be in the right place at the moment. I find this sometimes. But I hope one day you will readt this book and it will take you away as it did me. Never have I read a book more moving than this. Mind you, I am a hopeless romantic....

This was a horrid book, I managed to finish it so I don't blame you for wanting to give up.
