“And again... a book that could've been way better but it just isn't. I loved the subject, the idea, and even the description of the Grunewald painting from the beginning, but I didn't like the way he built the entire story. All that information about Giles de Rais was very interesting but it seemed like it was just thrown there without any credible connection with the main character. After reading it, I felt almost angry that it wasn't the way I expected to be.”
