One of the most versatile genius who depicts his struggling and turbulent phase of life that he passed through, bu he did not succumb to because of his immutable resolution, constant perseverance, and his grit and gumption that helps him take the bull by horns.

Taking resort to various callings from writing to swimming teacher, invention to poetry, accountancy to diplomat and so on.

All these boost confidence and strengthen morale and give you insight to look deeper at life.

This is the autobiography of Ben Franklin. He writes about the evens in his life that influences him and changes him. In his youth he was brought up as the youngest of the family. His father brought him to find a trade to work in. Unsuccessful in find a trade he becomes a apprentice for his brother. This becomes a important part of his life and the future. In this book there is a lot of information about his life. There are those that is more known to people such as the participation of the American Revolution and there are also things that are less known such as the iron stove in which he invented. This is a fascinating book and I highly suggest it.

'Interesting autobiographical account. Franklin is, justifiably, full of himself and conveys that to the generations.

I have a deep admiration for Franklin. Re-reading this book (this is my second time through, I read it first many years ago), I hoped to gain from his example and I think I did. I know that this would have pleased him immensely--to see himself emulated by anyone, someone else.

His writing style is so sparse and plain, but I know that that is what he wanted. John Dewey's writing style comes to mind as someone who also refuses to embellish because of an powerful commitment to clarity and sincerity. What I enjoyed reading this time was the ways in which he invented...the subscription library, the fire department, his plan for moral perfection, his military exploits, his diplomacies, his successes. I enjoyed reading his advice to learn French first, then Spanish, then Italian, and THEN go back and learn Latin, since, by then, it will be much easier to master. It gave me a glimpse inside the mind of one of the most brilliant Americans we have.

I found this to be a very interesting book, because everyone knows all that Benjamin Franklin did for America and for the world but you really get to see his entire great life through his eyes in this book. The Book starts when he is a young adult and goes to when he is a much older man. Throughout the book you get to see him grow up into the Benjamin Franklin that everybody knows, but this book gives you the chance to see the moments that truly made him who he was at the end of his life. I would recommend this book to anyone who either loves non-fiction, or is just interested in learning about Benjamin Franklin or American history as this book has a lot of both in it.
