Traffic cops for the sentence Lynn Truss has done an excellent job of explaining the importance of the comma in everyday use without the use of punctuation everything just ends up a long and I mean a long run on sentence the illustrator Bonnie Timmons used comic adaptions to explain the...

For a book about grammar, it's very entertaining. Truss is a bit smug, though - isn't she? (and she would definitely correct my punctuation in that last sentence, wouldn't she?)

Humorous, but tedious. I have to skip the parts that are more that I want to know.

It's difficult to write about something as dry as punctuation in a humorous manner, and Truss has managed it. I wouldn't recommend it to someone who is well and truly flummoxed about where to stick an apostrophe; there are more accessible beginners' guides out there, but this is a fun read for people who already know their punctuation and who might well call themselves sticklers. Yup. That's me.

Very funny, if you like grammar and all its failings.

A few good tips inside, but most I already know so it wasn't very interesting...
