This is the fourth book I've read on Washington and when one starts to read more than one biography on the same historical character it either becomes an enlightening and multidimensional experience or a painful exercise in repetition. Happily, the former is true in my own search for the real George Washington. Joseph Ellis was successful with the word brush in painting a very unique portrait of our nation's first President.
