The C Programming Language (2nd Edition)

by Brian W. Kernighan, Dennis Ritchie, Dennis M. Ritchie

Just about every C programmer I respect learned C from this book. Unlike many of the 1,000 page doorstops stuffed with CD-ROMs that have become popular, this volume is concise and powerful (if somewhat dangerous) -- like C itself. And it was written by Kernighan himself. Need we say more? (read review)

The book that helped begin the computing explosion. This book is also a model of technical writing. They cover a significant amount of material very well in a small book. Though there are better books to buy today as a C programmer, this will always be a gem.

It's hard for me to learn C language, but i really enjoy myself on reading and learn it. For part like file processing and structure, a little bit hard. I cannot imagine how all those windows Microsoft programmers do their job. ^_^
