Who Moved My Cheese? An Amazing Way to Deal with Change in Your Work and in Your Life

by Spencer Johnson

Change can be a blessing or a curse, depending on your perspective. The message of Who Moved My Cheese? is that all can come to see it as a blessing, if they understand the nature of cheese and the role it plays in their lives. Who Moved My Cheese? is a parable that takes place in a maze. Four beings live in that maze: Sniff and Scurry are mice--nonanalytical and nonjudgmental, they just want... (read more)

Who Moved My Cheese was an excellent short read about Change and how we deal with it. The story uses four characters and a maze in which the characters have to find their cheese. Once they have found their cheese each adapts differently and their cheese is moved. Two characters take it in stride while the other two have a little more difficulty adapting to the loss of their cheese.

My husband bought this book a couple of years ago at an airport on one of...

Yes “Change is the only constant” but this book felt like so much pablum fed to workers about to get the axe or lose their benefits. It is a justification for an administration about to make life hard on someone. And the cute-si-ness felt condescending. My goodness, did this book hit a nerve with me? Glad to read that others didn't take it the same way I did. “There is nothing wrong with change, if it is in the right direction” - Winston Churchill

I read this book when there were many changes going on in my professional and personal life simultaneously for the first time and i was too vulnerable at that time to cope up with them. Believe me it has helped me much more than anybody or anything else to accept the constant changes in my life. Thanks writers!!”

This book was a gift from my Husband to me as I am a book lover. I simply loved the book because of the language & simplicity use therein. It makes you realize so many things & understand so much without actually complicating the things. Every time I am desperate with my career or I look for a change I make sure that I go through this book. Each time I read this book, I get to read some more, which has been written in between the lines. True guide, friend & philosopher for me

I read this book several years ago because it was required reading for every employee of the company I worked for then. No kidding! New management came in and I think they were trying to prepare us for changes to come, but I ended up making a change of my own and leaving the company to move cross country and actually do the things I'd been talking about doing for so long. Which has turned out to be a very good thing. So even though I resented reading the book because of the way it was presented, it actually turned out to be a good thing. Go figure!
