Completely overrated. Holden Caufield is incredibly unlikeable and nothing happened that I cared about. There was nothing interesting about his thoughts or experiences. It wasn't the beauty of normalcy, it was the boringness of normalcy. Definitely a disappointment.

Excellent throughout. But the end did not live up to the dynamic nature of the main narrative.

I really enjoyed reading this novel. Though I had to read it for school, it was one of the few novels I enjoyed that I had to read. I would definately pick this novel up again because I think that any teenager can relate to the issues that the main character Holden goes through. You find so many relationships between how Holden feels in certain situation and find similarities to situations in your life. Even though this novel can seem depressing of times due to the way Holden describes things or how he reacts to situations, this is an overall very good book.
