Unexpected twist and lots of symbolism. a Great read.

For me, "Catcher in the Rye" was a little confusing. The storyline, though intriguing, didn't seem to follow an actual purpose. However, it was thought-provoking and interesting. I enjoyed reading it.

Probably the first instance in American fiction of an entire novel written in teenage scat/slang. As relevant today as it was in 1950. Will read it again, soon.

Holden Caulfield's mind is MY mind. It terrifies me, but I totally understand him. This book is one of my favorite books ever, and I think everyone should read it to jar free some of the clogs in their brain.

    Must read. Salinger masterwork..
Dwell deep into the psyche of Holden. "Phoney" people as he says.
Salinger colloquial narrative makes the antihero as the sole protagonist, while the entire world around Holden comprises of antagonist.

I hated the writing style. I barely finished, forcing myself to read the last few pages. I don't understand the hype, for me it was barely tolerable.
