Like The Great Gatsby, I like this book but think it's overrated. Salinger is the Jim Morrison of writing.

I had too much expectation. But it´s a good narrative.

Catcher and the Rye held my interest much better than I expected it to. The voice of Holden Claufield entertained me and caught me off guard by his brash and humorous tone.

The life and coming of age of Holden was surprising an interesting and a great classic for those who don't like to read classics.

Holden narrorates his adventures in New York after recently being kicked out of yet another college. While reporting his adventures he also incorporates childhood memories and his on personal opinions on humanity and life in general. His outlook tends to be sardonic satircal and very politically incorrect. His voice is imporper and his stances are uncreditible, but that never stops him from voicing them.

    Enjoyable read. I reccomend it.

Amazing book. That's all I can say. Also if you listen Mad World while reading this book, it can create effects which are really dangerous.

I had heard that this was an amazing, can't miss, gotta read book. So i checked it out of the library. And i tried to like it, i really did. But all the main character does is brood and swear. That's it. I tried to slog my way through this. This was completely boring, and i am so glad i did not buy it and waste my money. I only got about 40 pages into it, and the only thing that kept me from throwing this across the room was the fact that it was a library book and therefore not mine.
