The Purpose-driven Life: What on Earth Am I Here For?

by Rick Warren's

The spiritual premise in The Purpose-Driven Life is that there are no accidents---God planned everything and everyone. Therefore, every human has a divine purpose, according to God's master plan. Like a twist on John F. Kennedy's famous inaugural address, this book could be summed up like this: "So my fellow Christians, ask not what God can do for your life plan, ask what your life can do for... (read more)

While our church was doing this as a small group event throughout our congregation, we read our daily assignments as a family before putting the kids to bed. Our little one just enjoyed listening to the book. However, our 5th & 6th grade daughters enjoyed our devotional time. God is wonderful. There was even a part that helped my daughter with a homework assignment. "What 10 things do you want to bring into the afterlife?" As a Christian, she knew "things" wouldn't work. I liked this book for it's diverend view but I didn't like it because it's trying to brainwash(I didn't get the feeling all the time when I was reading it that it was biblical or real.). this book is also very black and with. and it's a verry Ammarican book I mean with that it is very radical and extreem at some points. but It's a good book to help people with there faith.

I started this books not to long ago and its already completely life changing, it alters the way you view yourself and other things. It makes you think, and it made me realize all that I take for granted. Whether you have a realtionship with God or not this book is a great starting point, or in my case something to make your relationship grow even stronger. I believe this book will "set you in the right direction." I would recommend it to everyone!
