In so many words, this book is life-changing...kinda like Jesus...kekeke (cheesy joke).

This will save you in writing for many contexts--blogging, applications essays, class essays, and etc. It'll make your professors twirl their mustaches when you read this book. All the homeschool kids...

It's a textbook. Although it helped me with my writing i can't say that it's anything other than a dry read.

This is a no-nonsense prescription for writing English prose. As a classic book on English style, it has been read by millions, and is a must-have for any writer. This is a very short book, full of wit, and great instruction.

It starts with a one-page introduction, followed by a chapter called the "Elementary Rules of Usage." This section is dedicated to parts of a sentence, like where to use a comma, and how to introduce an independent clause. The second chapter is called the "Elementary Principles of Composition," and delves into the art of structuring sentences. The next chapter is "Matters of Form," and gives advice on miscellaneous elements of a paragraph, such as titles, parentheses, and references. Following are "Words and Expressions Commonly Misused," a library of common mistakes. Finally, "Words Often Misspelled," makes a mockery of our most common words.

If you're a writer, blogger, or English aficionado, you can't ignore this one.

I read this book every year, for I assign it to my students. It is such a great book - I own about six copies: one for every room and bookbag.

A helpful and humorous little book, though I did disagree with some of the rules.
