She has written better books, in my opinion this book is missing a proper plot. It's based almost only on the interpersonal relationships between the various caracters, theTriumvirates and about the acquisition or not of new powers ... and lovers. It seems almost an omnibus ...
I'm curious...

I keep reading her books but any thing after Blue Moon is just a porn novel. I keep hoping she will go back to her first books but that is not gong to happen and they just keep getting more explicit it is like looking at a car wreck you are not that thrilled but can't look away.

I'm curious to read the next one also because, usually, I like how she writes even if she stops a few too much for my tastes on erotic details.

LOVED IT!!! I have really been enoying this series and although it seems to be getting extreamly steamy I'm still loving it.

Another in the series that is my guilty pleasure. A little on the excess side in terms of graphic sex, but still a good story. I love the narration.

It actually took me several weeks to read this one. I just couldn't get into it. I kept picking it up and putting it down. Once I was about half was through I finally finished it and it was pretty good.

Another great installment in the Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K. Hamilton. As a woman, I can greatly relate to Anita's struggles as she goes through not knowing if she's pregnant or not and I really liked this book because it was a lot more down to earth because of it. I also liked this book because we got to find out more about the ardeur, something that isn't as readily available to anyone and no one can relate to. There were a lot of sex scenes, all of which were great, and I felt that they were really tastefully done, although the one between Anita and Requiem took a little too long to get to. There are some points were it's just tension building and finally you get to the scene, but that particular scene took way too long to reach.

I rated this book a 4/5 because I felt that the ballet and party that is stressing everyone out from the beginning also takes way too long to get to. I understand that Anita has some issues going on in her life, but it felt like Laurell didn't really know how to introduce these issues without putting off the highlight and main part of the book until the very end. Also, there was too much Richard for my liking. I don't know what happens later on down the road, seeing as there are 20 books in the series (at this point) and I just finished number 14, but Richard is really starting to get on my nerves and I am really hoping he jolts out of the picture at some point. I really didn't miss him earlier in the series and I don't think I'm going to miss him now. Throughout the book, Anita is referred to as the "Prince Charming" whom all the princesses (pomme de sang candidates) were going after. Well, throughout the whole series it feels like Richard is the "woman/princess" of the triumvirate that he shares with Anita and Jean-Claude and he's constantly lusting after "Prince Charming/Anita" but to no avail. Just move on!

Alright, I'm going to end my Richard rant there and mention that I would recommend this book to anyone who likes paranormal fiction, paranormal romance, and the Anita Blake series. I know it's long, but keep going and Laurell will not disappoint.

“I’m dating three men, living with two more, and having occasional sex with two others. That’s seven men. I’m like a pornographic Snow White. I think seven is plenty.” Anita Blake

Wow, This book was great. It was very in depth when it came to vampire politcs. And Anita's powers are getting very powerful which makes it dangerous for her a Jean Claude because he invites several Masters to the area for a showing of a vampire ballet. Anita may be pregnant. There is so much going on in this book it is one to really enjoy...
