The arms race and a dangerous stand-off in the Middle East. Bring in the spys and we have a damned exciting read.

I had a hard time getting into it (probably due to frequent distractions), but Follet writes action scenes at a level worth studying academically--top rate. I found the introduction of a love interest added rather late in the book. That seemed a bit "off" to me. The last few chapters were page turners.

A thriller that had a complicated plot that should have been more interesting than it was, althougth the climactic finish was fast paced.

A master piece from Ken Follet. Set in the Middle East amind tensions between the Arab states and Israel, this book captures the essence of the conflict between Israel and it's neighbors.

We get an insight on what the conflict means to the people who are caught right in the middle of it.

description of action scenes on ship is too technical and a tab difficult to follow...goes into too much details some times. Certain parts are quite unbelievable eg. why do Ashford and Hassan think that Suza will succeed in finding out from Cortone's Nat's whereabouts?

Ken Follett, as he always does, keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout. Masterfully written.

Ever wondered where Israel got their fissionable material to build their atomic bomb? Mr. Follett tells a great tale here on how it might have happened.
