This book was an absolutley amazing book. Once you start to read it you can't stop and although it is a heartbreaking book it is also breathtaking. Read it!

I was the minority opinion at my book discussion group. Most of the readers really were drawn in and emotionally affected by the story, but I had the feeling I was being manipulated. I didn't see the need for all the mystery with the lawyer and his dog, and by the time the end came around I was...

I really enjoyed reading this book. The way the book was written was a different style for me and it was hard to get used to but it was nice to have a different style of writing.

    a good book..

i really felt bad for ANNA..she was a gem of a person... while reading.. i thought that death was the only way out for her... cause in the end as a sister she would have to give... but i didnt expect that to happen... i was a blow for me.. i actually read back as i thought i read it wrongly... sad ending....

I would have for sure given it 5 stars besides the fact that i did not like the ending at all. it is completely unexpected and not audience-pleasing. The rest of the book was very good though

A good book about the bonds between sisters, family dynamics, and being your own person. The book started out alright but didn't get that good till the last like 150 pages. Most of the book was worth 3 stars but the ending was a 5 star ending. I did not see the ending coming & it took me by surprise. The ending was so sad.
In the book Kate is sick with leukemia. She has a brother Jesse and a sister named Anna. Anna is a perfect donor for Kate so throughout her life she has had to give donations to her sister- bone marrow, blood, lymphocytes... Anyway she is now asked to give Kate a kidney. Kate is sick of living this way & doesn't want the kidney. Anna also decides she is done being a donor for Kate so she files a lawsuit for medical emancipation from her parents. The book is mostly about the family and the lawsuit happening while kate is sick. The ending of the book throws a sad twist to the story that you don't see coming.
This book was a great story about love, family, and sickness.

oh my gosh! What a fabulous book this was. There was so much to think about and plenty to cry over! If youve seen the movie then your totally being mislead! I hated the movie. I mean, Ive seen a lot of damage done to a perfectly good book, but this was terrible. They changed the ending! Must read. So good.
