I love the "romantic" & "swash-buckling" fantasy of pirates, though this book awakens a reality, one that is just daring and dangerous enough to supply a perfect game for me and my cousins!!!!

This is an adverge book. it tells you about how the pirates are and what they do. In some of the padges in the book they have things that they found. For example, on one page they have this gold dust from treasure they found. Overall an ok book

This interactive book discusses everything that has to do with pirates. Loosely connected with a story about a pirate hunter, this book provides lots of information about pirates in a fun and interactive way. Every page has something you can open and read about something. I chose this book because students seem to really like pirates, and this seemed to be the most uniquely interesting book on the subject. I would mostly use this book as a theme. I’ve already developed lesson plans for several subjects that use pirates as its theme. While I don’t like to plan my lessons ahead of time, this is the biggest exception. I’ve always wanted to have a Pirate Week or something. Kids will eat it up!

Summary: Pirateology is a great book that has everything of what you would want to know about pirates. This book has many activities you can do, and has wonderful illustrations. Pirateology shows you how to tie a knot all the way to knowing how to use a compass.

Reason I chose this book: I chose this book, because I really love the representation of it. It is not your typical book. It has flaps you open, and is created in a way that is unique, and gets a reader involved.

Use in the classroom: A great way to incorporate this in the classroom is by doing some of the actives that are in the book, as well as having them do there own research about pirates. I think the whole pirate theme would be a great way to explore, and talk about how they are presented in movies such as Peter Pan.
