Ardent fans of Cook, please forgive me for saying this, but in my opinion, after the first few, one learns to read his novels more or less to kill time, with eyes glazed over, as one would flip TV channels on a boring sunday afternoon. Acceptable Risk is one of his many fun, light, one-time reads.

I like most of Robin Cook's books, but I think this one is my favorite.

This book surprised me. I wasn’t feeling very optimistic about it as I neared the climax, but I was pleasantly surprised by how it ended. This book wasn’t 100% medical — there was a nice side-story about the Salem witch trials. I only give it 3 stars because I’ve decided I don’t like how Robin Cook writes women. They always seem to be indecisive and overly-emotional and rather irrational.

I learned a lot about the Salem witch trials from this! Who'd have thunkit? This was my first RC book, and I couldn't with reading just one.

Kinda trashy, for on the beach novel, but an interesting take on medicating behavioral disorders, and a nice parallel plot with Salem witch trials.

Well the salem witch trial part is mildly interesting. The 2 main characters are dorky. Good luck if you can get passed all the scientific jargon. Had to skip thru then finally stopped reading it.
