Fascinating account of the events that intertwined around the planning, construction, and events of Chicago's World Fair & Exposition of 1893, and of a serial killer with a pathological plan to use the event to his advantage. Highly recommended.

By any means this book could not be considered bad, but the title is a bit misleading. Supposedly, this book is about H.H. Holmes but I found that the majority of the book was spent discussing the World Fair and those involved in it's completion.
It was still a very interesting read and I did enjoy it, but I do like the Victorian era so I may be biased.

I learner so much about the Chicago fair and a serial killer. Sometimes you forget this is nonfiction!

This is an amazing factual story of the World's Fair in 1893, intertwined with a murder mystery going on at the same time as the fair. Intriguing and well written.

Took me a while to read this. The non fiction account of the 1893 Chicago World's Fair and the first recorded American Serial Killer, H.H. Holmes. The story is well-researched and fact driven but reads like a mystery novel. in the end, this was probably the first historical novel text that I've really liked.

A really good read about the building of the Chicago Worlds Fair, interspersed with the story of Dr. Holmes a serial killer living in the neighborhood of the Fair. Wish they had included some Photos or Sketches of the Fair. It was an amazing thing for the 1890s
