“The blending of history and fiction, mystery and politics in this book intrigued me. Larson does an excellent job of keeping the reader engaged.”

Can sometimes get too bogged down in architectural detail but you can read over that quickly. Fascinating to find out about the World's Fair and the crime that occurred around the building of it.”

The people are over the top at times, especially the serial killer, but it is addicting. I is a great look, though, at what Chicago was like at the turn of the century, and after reading it I wanted to be able to go there. Alas, I cannot not, but I feel like I am transported there every time I read this book.”

Many wonderful inventions that are still used today were presented at this great exhibition. Was a fascinating read.”
