“The dark mood that was prevalent in the last two books deepens in this book as Harry learns, through his "private lessons" with Dumbedore, about Voldemort's past and the true scope of his mission to vanquish the dark wizard. There are too many good things to say about this book to list them all, but there was not a single disappointing moment--heartbreaking moments, yes, but disappointing, no.”

“ ** spoiler alert ** This is a difficult book because as in most heroic journeys, Harry has to face the death of his mentor. I enjoyed the whole "Trust Snape" or "Snape is evil" debate this book introduced. I'm so happy I was right about Snape. It was interesting to see him finally teach his favorite subject as well as Harry's own confidence (borne out of having been one of the best DADA teachers at Hogwarts, even if it was on the sly) with Snape. Slughorn is a great character, too. ”

“i like this one a lot better than the 5th book but it kinda leaves you hanging. i really want to know whats happening with Mr. Volde (Voledemort) but it's not telling me!! i don't give a crap about Won-Won's love life with lavender who is kinda one of those pushy gf's. Well overall i do like it.”
