The long-awaited, eagerly anticipated, arguably over-hyped Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has arrived, and the question on the minds of kids, adults, fans, and skeptics alike is, "Is it worth the hype?" The answer, luckily, is simple: yep. A magnificent spectacle more than worth the price of admission, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will blow you away. However, given that so much has gone into protecting the secrets of the book (including armored trucks and injunctions), don't expect any spoilers in this review. It's much more fun not knowing what's coming--and in the case of Rowling's delicious sixth book, you don't want to know. Just sit tight, despite the earth-shattering revelations that will have your head in your hands as you hope the words will rearrange themselves into a different story. But take one warning to heart: do not open Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince until you have first found a secluded spot, safe from curious eyes, where you can tuck in... see complete book description

The penultimate deposit in this captivating concatenation is stupendous indeed. Much crucial information is revealed, and our favorite wizard Harry Potter goes on some very unique adventures. Following him in this chapter of his dauntless experiences as a wizard will have you screaming for the final entry. (Review written by me)

I liked this book because Draco actually got a more prominent role in it. After Half Blood Prince I thought Draco was actually going to become a bigger character finally and was sorely disappointed by The Deathly Hallows when he remained the snobby little kid he always was.

Why do people like this book so much? It's my least favorite in the series. It took 400 pages to get into, and most of it is fluffy filler. The Tom Riddle bits are very interesting, but that's about where the allure ends. I remember accurately guessing how the book would end by the end of chapter 2, and any idiot could have guessed who the half-blood prince was by the end of the chapter of the same name. If anything, it was an unnecessarily long, simple, and overstuffed introduction to Deathly Hallows.

This is an awesome book, and if i had to choose a favorite in the series, this would be it. Overall, the series was fantastic, but i think i enjoyed reading this the most, because this is where the characters (and the author) *really* start to mature. This book and the 7th, in my opinion, really proves that Harry Potter is a serious work of literature, because, sadly, it has become something of a cliche, and Rowling's works are not taken that seriously anymore.
