I have to read it 3 or 4 times a year, to keep myself in line, but it really is the best way to get your stuff together and keep it together. I can't recommend it enough. I wish my employer would make everyone at work use it.

Great book. Provides the background for working out the best system for you, rather than providing the answer. Allen focuses on making it work, and building on the foundation that he outlines in the book.

A fantastic method of organization and productivity. This book really helps you clear your head and at the same time keep you from forgetting anything. Free up your mind for creativity while letting the system remind you.

This is the best book I have found that helps increase productivity. It provides several simple steps to help get organized and "get things done".

I'm a details guy - a "like to check things off my list" guy. Getting Things Done is a perfect fit for me! Excellent organizational techniques that have really impacted both how much I'm able to do and the stress level (or lack thereof) surrounding my work. Excellent resource!

David Allen's system for GTD as it is known will revolutionize your daily life. Personally, I think this should be mandatory education for every person no matter you do, just like reading and writing. If you ever had too many reminders floating in your head or find yourself making commitments and not following up, you need to build a system for Getting Things Done and this is the best place to start.

This book is a guide to getting all the "stuff" you're stressing about out of your brain and putting it into a trusted system, allowing your mind to relax and be more flexible, creative and productive. Or, at least, that's the black-belt level one hopes to someday achieve. Nonetheless, from the start, Getting Things Done lets you gather the loose ends in your life, and let fewer things slip. Stop flaking out on appointments, stop forgetting paperwork, and stop letting people (including yourself) down. As you get better at using GTD principles, you'll find you're capturing more good ideas and keeping them in system that encourages you to nurture them. I'm nowhere near the ideal of "stress-free productivity" on the cover, but I'm miles away from where I was before I read this book.

You need to put some effort into it, especially at the beginning, but if you have the discipline to maintain your system and adapt it to your life, you will reap valuable rewards and find that the energy you're putting in is nothing compared to the energy you save.
