The students find a recent body among the ancient Native American burial mounds and Tempe finds herself part-coroner, part-detective and living with her ex-husband, Pete and her new paramour, Ryan in a friend’s beach house. I am a fan of the TV show Bones, and I enjoy mysteries, so I decided to give Kathy Reichs a try. I was disappointed. The writing was often tedious with too much time devoted to Dr. Brennan's mundane internal dialogue. I didn't find the Temperance Brennan in this book to be a likeable character at all. The book did pick up in the last 75 pages or so when the case was being unraveled, but that's not enough to make me want to read another book by Reichs.

Graceless: Yes, I do think there are highs and lows in the series. I just finished the new one, Bones to Ashes, and it was not the best. But, Break No Bones was spectacular! I love the characters so much I will stay with it. I hope you will too... MM
