Night

by Elie Wiesel

In Nobel laureate Elie Wiesel's memoir Night, a scholarly, pious teenager is wracked with guilt at having survived the horror of the Holocaust and the genocidal campaign that consumed his family. His memories of the nightmare world of the death camps present him with an intolerable question: how can the God he once so fervently believed in have allowed these monstrous events to occur? Night by Elie Wiesel is a true story about a Holocaust survivor and the torture he faced after being imprisoned in a Nazi concentration camp during the second World War. Elie Wiesel was a Jewish boy in Europe during the 1940's. He and his family were taken from their home and stripped of their needs, their freedom, and their dignity. Elie tells his story about his fight to survive with no food, clothing, and frail hope amazingly.

This book was an excellent representation of the holocaust. But it was also written in a very choppy style that I didn't like.

This is a book is, obviously, about holocaust, death of millions, suffering of families, society and the displacement of millions. Ultimately its about loss of things we as humans hold dear. Certainly thought-provoking in the context of Iraq war and the killing of about a million Iraqis, the displacement of few million more, the loss of families, society, culture etc. Apparently, the author of this book, Elie, supported and encouraged our president to undertake this war. Again, something to think about.

this is a very good book. I think if everyone has a chance they should sit down and read it. Not only will you just be reading it for fun but at the same time getting education about the holocaust. This is a non-fiction book and will grab your attention from the first page in the book. I would tell you a little bit about it but i dont want to ruin it, so whenever you have a chance take a load off your feet and sit down and enjoy this good book.
