“Chris Anderson breaks down so well where media is heading. This is an excellent look against traditional economics and ways we have thought traditionally. It is so hard to think otherwise after reading this. So many of us are focused on hits when niches is really where markets are going.”

Mr. Anderson has cited relevant examples from nearly all media streams and the result is a revelation. It changes the way one looks at the industry. Must read. thoroughly enjoyable!!”

On the hidden value of the high margin niche market (long tail) , which has not been properly serviced. A good and quick read on understanding of the new network economics. This book is well read in combinations with Taleb's, and probably "tipping point" which I will read later on. ”

He explains it succinctly in the first chapter and then proceeds to give every possible example of the Long Tail occurring on the internet. Granted some of the stories of internet start-ups can be entertaining, but soon the repetition gets a bit tiring. This book would most likely be extremely enlightening for the non-internet generation, but for the rest of us the Long Tail is a bit obvious.”

The best line from the book (paraphrased) - the economy has changed from selling millions to dozens to selling dozens to millions. ”

But it is REALLY interesting...and also very readable. It's all about the almost unlimited choice created in the market because of the digital age – more importantly the evolution of the internet. The new economics is about niches, where the sum of the niches is almost as big, if not bigger than the “mainstream” products. ”
