On one hand, I loved the author's writing style and I loved learning about his native country. However, the description of the child abuse within this book was way, way, way too much for me to take. This was the first book that I finished and I didn't want to talk about it with anyone and I wanted to get those awful, sad, tragic images out of my mind. People tell me that I need to deal with these things better and realize they really do happen and that I can't just block them out of my head. Maybe so, but in this case I just would prefer not to have those images in my mind. That said, it was a beautifully written book and I am considering reading his next book "A Thousand Splendid Suns". We'll see.”

Hosseini did a great job showing people what is life like in Afghanistan ...but I must say that he being from a good family saved him quite a struggle...the life became much more cruel and he could have done a better job thr ..
Book sometime becomes overwhelming and atleast i started wondering if it has a super-hero aspect of hasan as well ...nice read shows how much family means to a person ...”
“love it :)
