Such a completly sad story. I would read it on my lunch break at work and people would asky what was wrong because there was a look of horror and sadness on my face. Highly HIGHLY recommend.

The book is realistic in it's struggles and hardships. It was hard for me to get into at first, because it was the first book I have read in a long time where I hated the narrator. Most books generally help you form some sympathy for whoever is telling the story, this one however takes some time. Stick with it though. If nothing else you will at least have a somewhat deeper understanding of another culture.

The author is an excellent story teller. Although popularized, you really get a sense of the compassionate yet desperate surroundings some youths cannot escape.

As if Hosseini's magical storytelling abilities weren't enough, the plot of The Kite Runner seamlessly weaves in and out, from nostalgic childhood days in Afghanistan to the tense, emotional rigor of the final chapters. This book deserves all the stars in the sky, but since I can only give it five, five it shall be.

Disturbing, but realistic story of a young boy and his life before and after the Taliban took over Afganistan.

I cried. I'm not afraid to admit it. It was probably the first book that made me cry so much. From what happened to Hassan to Baba's death, i cried. One of the best book I've read. I would recommend it to anybody. At first i hated Amir so bad, but then i started feeling seeing myself in him, don't know if thats bad of good!!.
Loved Hassan, absoulutly loved him with all my heart. Wish i could have kept on reading. The ending was good but i would have wanted to know more about Sohrab. As i said before i would recommend this book any day!!!
