I read the book and saw the movie. I thought the book was better than the movie. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading about friendship and loyalty even in hard times.

    Hi Connie
You look good. I had a cat very similar to you, but she passe away. Yes, the book is a testament to human perseverance. It leaves many profound questions; like are tribal conditions as described the culprit? Is it something about Pashtun culture, or was geo political questions more dominant to explain the kind of tribal nationalism described in the book. Unfortunately, we readers are more likely to see culture as dominant. This cannot be blaimed on the author, though.
