Great book... Didn't have any slow spots. Adds a whole sense of realness to the struggle in Afghanistan and what has happened there.

Poorly constructed soap opera, that how I felt after punishing myself reading till the end .I fail to understand why ppl like this book that much ?What’s all this hype about it?A native writer from Afghanistan who decide to make some money coz he's smart enough to know what will please the mainstream in the west. I was deeply touched by this book. Not only does it present an eye-opening view of Taliban Afghanistan, it takes a reader through the heart wrenching journey of a young man tortured by his actions as a child. What I really noticed is how Hosseini ends each of his chapters with sentences that cut you right to the soul.

I read the book and saw the movie. I thought the book was better than the movie. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading about friendship and loyalty even in hard times.

Very captivating and heart-touching story of Afghanistan. Hosseini presented to us how Afghans, like himself, searched the meaning of their existence in a country that was almost ruined by war. But, despite the war robbed them of their home, it didn't obliterate their rich culture and identity.... completely unforgettable!
