It sounds cool but the characters are very annoying and I could not muster up any feelings of apathy. In fact I routed the entire book for them to die. I thought I could see some twist endings coming up but eventually the story peters out with a mediocre ending. I gave an extra star to the book because it was descriptive and disgusting enough to make my stomach churn.”

When a group of travelers end up tramping around the Yucatan jungle looking for the missing brother of one of them, they figured they'd be home again by sunset. The next day would be filled with sunshine, beaches and drinks. They didn't know they wouldn't be going home because when you step in to this small patch of jungle, it never lets things go.
This was a good read. Although I think the set up too way to long for this novel I still enjoyed the thrilling moments it did have. The fact that I didn't care for any of the character's though probably effected my enjoyment of this book. I like ancient evil adventures and found this one could have had more action and less “getting there” parts. The suspense didn't build well for me and I found myself disappointed that what I thought should have been coming, never came. Oh the whole, this was still a good read but it won't blow you away.
