Books are my life; beginning at three when I started reading on my own. I've owned my own antiquarian bookstore, been a librarian, published several books; currently teach writing and hold workshops on books, and now even run a writing school. A great book with helpful tips, and practical thoughts and ideas that sparked me to put pen to paper- and that can only be good!

If you have never read this book as a child, or to your child, I hope you will check it out. This is a beautiful, timeless story of acceptance, and unconditional love. There is a lesson for all here no matter what your age; re-reading children's classic literature is always a great way to reconnect with that inner child we tend at times to forget.

This book tells it like it is! I felt like I was talking to my best (although crass) friend. Already a vegetarian when I read the book, I have now become a vegan (two months and running) and do not plan to look back. Being from Wisconsin, I really thought I would miss the cheese, but 90% of the time, I don't even think about it. A possible helpful hint to those that want to, but can't give up meat...really look into the eyess of an animal and then try to go eat that burger!
