I've read Kazuo Ishiguro's Never Let Me Go and after reading this book, I think both of the them has a theme on loneliness and the feeling of helplessness.
I like this book better than Never Let Me Go. It's funny at times but mostly it's very sad.

I laughed out loud a number of times.
I can totally relate because I'm a Catholic myself, it's one of the best reads I had this year.

It's such an amazing read. I like how the characters are build up by the author. I am now ready to see the movie version of this.

Fantastic account of Fawcett's quest to find the city of Z. Very impressed, one of the best books I've read.

This book is about the life of Tender Branson, supposedly the lone survivor of the Creedish death cult. He works as an all-around household help to an affluent couple then turned to a religious leader overnight.
This is my second Palahniuk. The first one, I didnt have the heart to read it haha. It was too dark for me. I believe it was the Diary.

Funny, entertaining, dark, tabloid-ish, and very good household tips. 4 stars.

I truly enjoyed this book. In some ways I can relate to the protagonist especially about politics and dictatorship ( Marcos is our counterpart of Trujillo) .I must say that Dominicans and Filipinos do have a lot in common. I was suprised!

I can understand some of the Spanish words used but I did consult the dictionary a lot of times since I have very limited Spanish. Some feel they have missed out since the book is peppered with Spanglish, I kinda feel a little that way now too.
But all in all, it was a great book, I love it.

I think Dahl is such a fantabulous writer! I love this memoir. Like him, I also do not believe that physical punishment is a means to straighten up a child. I like him more than ever after reading this book. I also understood now where he got most of his themes he used for his adult short stories.

I like this book because I learned more about art through Griet. I've always wondered why some paintings can be so moving, like how you are moved by beautiful music. I think this is a sensual book. Overall, I'm very impressed by the author's writing.

I loved it but didnt get to finish it, my copy has missing pages!
It says it has 288 pages but I only got until 277, which is a shame. I found 10 other books with a misprint.
