I have been reading since I was a child growing up in Miami, Fl. Escaping everyday life through Grimm's Fairy Tales, Dr. Seuss etc . As life went on I discovered the Classics that were taught in school but on the side I read historicals to pass the time away. I read the Harlem Renaissance writer's and the autobiographies and the Teachings and Preachings of the New Black writer's that were evolving and saying something new. Sonya Sanchez, Nikki Giovanni, Maya Angelou were telling it like it TIS. Along came college at Wilberforce University and Black History and I wanted to devour everything I could get my hands on. Iceburg Slim, Donald Goines, Huey Newton, Angela Davis whoo I was on a rollercoaster that I couldn't get off of. Rosemary Rogers, Danielle Steel, Stephen King, too many to name and not enough time. THEN all of a sudden someone named Gloria Naylor that looked like me started publishing things that I really could get my hands around,Terry McMillan, Tina McElroy Ansa wow too many to name and now new African American Authors Brother's and Sister's and life goes on. The I discovered that we lived and wrote romances historical and modern, now I have another addiction. All of a sudden Paranormal writers, L.A. Banks, Brandon Massey, Tanarive Due and T.L. Gardner what else to come. I'm now introducing my daughter to our writer's and such is the world of reading and educationand parenting.
