Hubby and I both read his Empire. We liked the plot but the typos in that book were driving us mad. I may have to try Magic Street again later and see if it was my mood. I often go back and try again if I disliked a book by a favorite author. I keep trying to get his Earthborn series...I think that is what it is called...but the books are never in stock at my library. They go out as fast as they come in.

Another book I have had lots of trouble getting into is Anne Mc Caffrey's Dragonrider of Pern series. Hubby loves them and I just can't get thru the first 100 pages. I just got the first one in audio to see if that helps.

The Book of Fate by Brad Meltzer is another recent no-go for me. I have tried it in print and audio. I really hate it when I give up on a book....

We have a lot of books in common... I see you have read a lot of orson Scott Card. Did you read magic Street? I gave up within about 60 pages. The language and plot was too rough to read. I was disappointed in that one. I also saw some Richard Preston. I just finished Panic in level 4. It talks about the research he did in writing The Hot Zone. The part about restoring a tapestry was boring to me but the rest of that book was great. He suited up and went into a level 4 bio lab!

Hi bookie. It's very nice to meet you. What did you think of Lawhead's Pendragon Cycle? If you are looking for more in this genre, I encourage you to pick up my books. I have two books out with a third due out this spring. What other Arthurian tales have you read?
