Hi, Anina! Chesca really loves the Pookie books you gave her. Once I was reading her What's Wrong Little Pookie? and instead of saying no to the questions, she kept saying Yes! What's a mom to do? Joel made sure to save all her books during the flood.

David Foster Wallace is on my shelf because you introduced him to me. I was hooked after that opening essay on tennis . . . and math! Haha.

Tell me which Lethem you're reading. I know I bought a collection of short stories (Amnesia Moon, I think) but haven't touched it yet. Would like to get your input. How do you find him? Did you know that he's Philip K. Dick's biographer? He has an interesting commentary on the DVD for "A Scanner Darkly."

You're reading Kavalier and Clay! (Apparently, Shelfari informs you of these things.) I'm such a huge Chabon fan, he's one of my favorite contemporary American writers. Probably second to Paul Auster.

Let me know what you think of Kavalier and Clay (whether or not this is your first time reading it). Kavalier and Clay is also special to me because it was the first novel I ever taught in a fiction class. At 500 pages plus, my students thought it was an epic but an easy read.

Hey! Glad to see you here! For the record, this is the only social networking site that I frequently go to, and you're my second friend.:) The first is Joel. Let me know what's interesting to read. I just have the usual stuff.
