I am a boomer who loves to read, since my mom took me to the library for the first time when I was about 6 years old.

I am particularly fond of thrillers, adventure, mystery. A few of my favorites are Daniel Silva, David Ignatius, Deborah Crombie, Donna Leon. I am eclectic however in my tastes and I love to discover a new author. Not... more »

My first acquaintance with this writer. I thought she was very good with a well woven story.

Anna is a very good writer, the dialogue is very introspective and this some times gets in the way of the story, but all in all I enjoyed it.

Even though this is fiction it read like a true story - a heartbreaking one at that about Paris in 1940 and the country's treatment of its Jewish citizens.

An exceptional story that makes you very sad about what one human being can do to another, but well worth reading.

I'm just getting started with this book, but so far the writing is excellent and the story portends to bring pathos and romance in a time of war. I'm looking forward to reading it to its conclusion

An unbelievable true story of a young girl and how she survived a wretched upbringing.

Very good. I'm waiting for the sequel, because there is more to tell with this story.

I like Sara's books a lot, but I am about half way through this one and there hasn't been much action. She spends a lot of time talking about the "old" Chicago and all its ethnic neighborhoods as they are related to her story. I think there is a lot of personal reminiscing going on. Probably more interesting to someone who may have lived in Chicago in their youth and has since moved on. I will keep on reading to the end and I anticipate some intrigue developing as the plot evolves.

Interesting, but somewhat contrived dialogue and outrageous plots.
