Hey Tessa, just post a note on my page whenever you post the discussion questions. That way I can make sure to pin them to the top of the board. Thanks again! :)

Okay, I've "followed" -- clicked on the button and it seems to have worked -- I now see "IS PENDING" where it used to say "FOLLOW". I've never seen that before -- I guess you've got conditions set on who can follow you, or something? Anyway, if what happened before when you tried to follow me is that you got "IS PENDING", then I should look into how I move somebody from Pending to following/friend... But maybe the ball is in your court at the moment, for my attempt to follow you?

Geez, could this be more confusing?

    Hi,thanks for yr note :)
it is indeed a small group with a fairly aggressive reading plan (1 book every 2 weeks) - i m unable to keep up with full time work and studying... but i do try and participate as much as i can. the group on FB has about 64 members.. but for the meetings on 3-5 people show up in the 2 meets i have been for....:)
I am still trying to be a part of it...:)

Hey Tessa, thanks for the invite. The trouble is I never stay with any genre for more than a book or two. I'm all over the map. I joined a Stephen King group and I hardly ever check it out because I'm not reading him right now. Good luck with your group, I'm sure it will be great.

Hi Book Concierge, we are in a few groups together and I see that you are a fan of Agatha Christie so I thought I would send you a "follow" request. I have taken over the admin of the Agatha Christie group. Please come and join us. We have a current discussion going on And Then There Were None and we will be discussing The Mysterious Affair at Styles at the end of June. Tracey

Just wanted to say that I am glad we are trying the group read in All Genres a different way-great group of people and would like to see the group reads continue. I know we have not all ended up loving Say Her Name - I know you were disappointed in it. BUT, it has been an interesting discussion and I always enjoy that and seeing how differently people respond to a book. Thanks for kicking off our new experiment. I consider it a success! :)

Hi,It was a good event. There were 5 of us, 3 of us were new, no one had read the book!!!
We spent a quick 60 mins getting to know each other, book preferences and deciding on the next book and next meet up schedule!
So far, all looks good :)
I must THANK YOU.. If it hadn't been for our conversation exchanges over the last few days, i would not have gone hunting for F2F book club :)

I look forward to our reading journeys! Cheers :D

Post my note to you, I went searching on facebook, and have found a gurgaon (haryana, india) book club - I am very happy to report, that I will be joining in the meet this saturday, where they will be talking about 'hunger games'. Hopefully, I will be a part of this F2F group. I think you point on getting involved only if the book interests you, makes a lot of sense. I found another group, Delhi book club, which is planning to explore mythologies in April. Super stuff :)
I am participating in 1 of the book reading challenges here on shelfari, however, I do need to visit my thread and update it! Though, I try to be regular with the shelf.

The attempts i made were both times with people i knew, however, due to work-home priorities, people could not read the book, and since no one read it, there was no point in meeting for it.

I am having a great time noting our books in common. Love That Dog -- love that book! Love your review of Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas. One of my least-loved books of all time. Glad to see you share my love of Amy Tan. At least the Amy Tan fiction before she got Lyme disease. I see that I can also refresh my memory on books I have read hace tiempo by reading a review of yours. I once had an English teacher who insisted that we write our opinions rather than summarize the books when we did book reviews, but there is much to be said for the synopsis. Loved The Diving Bell and the Butterfly even though Bauby was a jerk in many ways. Yet who can forget his experience? Henrietta Lacks, Angela's Ashes, Life of Pi ... wow! we could spend days discussing these books. I had the coolest experience with Life of Pi ... but enough. Lunch was wonderful and I hated having to leave! Hope your husband is not too upset with you and your new acquisitions.
