“A friend of mine was given this book and when she saw it was about a suicide bomber she emphatically said, "I'm NOT going to read this!" and handed it over to me. She missed out on reading a beautifully written book, that najlah29 a shelfari member accurately described, "A unique book written in the perspective of one of the most unheard from victims of suicide bomings--the family of the perpetrator. A great read to give perspective to the motivations behind suicide bombers. Written by a man but with a female pen-name, Khadra uses powerful dialogue and the uniquely describes the bonds between Palestinians and Israelis in present-day Israel." I definitely want to read Khadra's other novels.”
