I can not remember when I did not have loads of books. They are on every surface of my house. The other side of my bed is full of books. If I have company I have to clean my bed off. I am currently working on my poetry and prose

The History Non-Fiction Group is voting for the Oct-Dec Quarterly Group read. We've had several interesting books nominated. Please take a look and vote if you'd like to join in.

yeah there's a really famous painting depicting that. Did you watch Rowyn Hood with Keira Knihtley? I think that talks about that. Oh really? I hope everything works out for you. Good luck! She didn't have any girls?

Charles the Great. He was a Frankish warrior wasn't? Excellant anyhow. I've read a book about him recently..what was it called?..hmm can't remember.Oh yeah he did. John was a double-crossing backstabbing type of brother.Eleanor married 4 times? That I didn't know. She married Henry who -it's kinda funny-imprisoned her but what about the others? There's a book on your shelf, the series The Royal Diaries about her. It was pretty good. The end was a bit bitter because we know how the marraige is going to go but oh well. How many girls did she have?

Here it is: Byzantium? Interesting.Have you ever read The Da Vinci Code? The part where the historian talks about Christianity's beginnings and about Constantine, the first emperor. It's very interesting and thought-provoking, his theory. Have you read Oedipus Rex? This doesn't have to do with that subject but the topic of Greeks remided me of that. Alexander the Great is an awesome figure to read about. Carthage and Hannibal etc. Tudors and Stuarts? Yup. Do you feel sorry for Mary, Queen of Scots? I do. Elizabeth executed her. Sure she was gonna overthrow her but still. Eleanor of Aq married Henry 2 right? He imprisoned her later on. I would put her on my plan to read but I have so many books already! :)She was also the mother of Richard the Lionhearted, one of the leaders in the Crusades. He and Saladin are 2 of my fave historical figures. The name is not pronouced the same. His name is (pronounce it) Sala-hud-deen. That's it. The westernized way is Saladin but he should be remembered by his proper name. I'm readng a book called The Riddle of Anna Anderson about the woman who said she was Anastacia. It's also by Peter but Kurth. I've read Night. I liked it alot. It's really horrific the way he describes it. Night was one of my first books I ever read about the Holocaust. Actually that was Number the stars. I read it when I was 8. It was really really sad.And Maus of course. That was cool and very unique.

NOOO!!!!!!My note just got deleted!! and it was humongous!oh god im gonna have to write it allover again. here goes: (this oe's gonna be along one, lemme warn you;)
V Wolfe-A room of one's own. Sad she commited suicide, right?
Arthur Miller- Death of a salesman and Crucible (wonderful!) What's The Tropics one about?
Hey didja know Hunter S. Thompson shot himself? Just like his hero Ernest Heminway. Shot to the head. On the subject of that guy: Old man adn the sea was a bit of a bore but The Sun aslso rises was a lright even though it was a bit 'wierd'..:)
Faulkner lol. I bet you've read The Sound adn the Fury. Have you read A rose for Emily? I like it a lot.
Lol Flannery O Conner. Remember I mentioned her a few notes back? There's this one story called The Life you save may be your own i really like. It's sad but the way she writes is wonderful. What is Lupus by the way?
What a coincidence. I was jsut discussing Rumi with a friend. He's a bit hard to udertand at first but when you start looking at his poems more meaningfully it's WHOA! Don't go back to sleep. Isn't it a wonderful poem?
See the reason I ilike Pride and P is because we're also 5 sisters so we like comparing ourselves to them. And cuz my parents..actually tis too complicated to explain. And we watched the movie too. Lucky you though.
What?! Amy Tan rocks! I love her books. Why didn't you like her?

Yeah DP was cofounder of it. Most oferh storeis were written for it. Oh I don't like that era either! They have nothing to do with me or how my life is now. And they're so long and stuffy with no real "drama" or any interesting scenes..lol ;) Seriously. I like Pride and Prejudice though because 1) their famiily structure is alot like mine 2) I understand some of their concerns and can retate to it too 3) cuz everyone else likes it? And we did it in school whihc made it more fun cause you got to discuss it.
Do you read cultural books? Like Amy Tan, Julia Alvarex, Sandra Cisneros etc? African, South Asian, Latina, Chinese bessides mainstream literature

Oh I'm sorry! I didn't realize. I read anthology literature books too! Except I get it from my school ;) Oh if you value my reputation and integrity plaese delete my last message. I cannot believe I said that! Dragon tales..is um...a..cartoon? (if you google it you're going to die laughing) I understand why you like Dorothy Parker now. At first I was lke where's the feminist in her stories? They were all about brainless, men obsessed hard partying women (think Big Blonde) Then I read some more of her storeis and I understood. It's quite funny how she makes men look insensitive and there's another of her story where she delicately shows the racial prejudices of people. I don't remember the story...Have you read Lady with a Lamp and Mr.Durant(that one just got me mad) though? And A Telephone call and The Lovely Leave?

Sigh. I haven't seen the new Dr. For some reason it stopped coming on my channel. It was since..hmm...around fourth grade? I first saw the episode Blink, and I got scared for a loong time. Yup, I do write some, but I end up throwing my stories away. I plan to become a writer/journalist. I read about an author who wrote down every story idea she had and kept it in a folder, and looked it over when she had writers block. I'm going to try that!

When I first saw the comment 'what fresh hell.." I was like what the hell?!! I thought you finallly got sick of my inquisitiveness.:)Then I realized you were talking about the book ;)
Like to know my secret? Its shows im geek of geeks but-ssh no tell anybody alright?-
I read history/bio/lit textbooks and -get this- I ENJOY it!! I read cover to cover but only my sisters know. (even they make fun of me. some sisterly supports) If my friends found out....eek! And I still watch DragonTales. I love the song!!
Now that's just gonna be between me and you right?
My schools'a alright. I have pretty awesome teachers. I mean some are pretty mean-rigid-prudish but well no matter where you go there are bound to be people like them no? My history teacher rocks! I have pretty interesting classmates too. One suffers from bipolar ADHD and depression-someday I'll tell you her whole story and the stuff she used to do- and I swear another is gay.
