  • The Bread of Angels: A Memoir of Love and Faith in Damascus
    • Rated 5 stars

Stephanie Saldana's memoir of a year she spent in Syria, sent on a Fulbright scholarship to study the role of Jesus in Islam, and escaping a family history that haunts her as well as a broken heart - a year that would open her heart and change her life in surprising ways. The story and the woman, like the writing, are simply beautiful. Highly recommended.
