Hi Hadeel. Sorry to take so long to get back to you on your question. Yes, A Wrinkle in Time is/was one of my favorite books but I've not read it in a very long time. It's part of a Young Adult fantasy / science fiction series that I read when I was a child (and that was a long time ago :D ). The writing is excellent, the plot was interesting, the action kept moving well enough for my interst not to drift, and (at the time) I was just a midge younger than the main character. In the intervening years, the books won numerous awards and has become classics. I was shocked to find that it's become reading assignments in some schools now :D

It's fabulous! I had read this before I read "The Five People You Meet In Heaven" and liked "White Apples" much better. The two books basically have the same theme, but I liked Carroll's take on it, not nearly as - dare I say it? - sappy. Then again, I've read most of Carroll's books and really enjoyed them all.

Move it to the top (or close to the top) of your "To Be Read" pile!

Oh I ended up ignoring the desert guy in favor of _Educating Esme_...the diary of a first-year school teacher...it's hilarious! How to stay sane when working for a moronic principal. :P
I read that _Like Water_ and couldn't get into it...but if you like a Hispanic family saga, try _House of the Spirits_ by isabel Allende...so good.

Hey, _Holly's Inbox_ seems really funny! I was just thinking of _City of Djinns_...I read it a long time ago but I know there was funniness throughout it. The writer (like other good writers of this genre) has a dry sense of humor. :P You might like this one as well, especially if you like to learn about India's capital. LOL reading abot the roads was almost as fun as actually driving through them. :P Chaotic ;)

Well, _Merde, Actually_ was pretty funny. I suppose it's not strictly a travel narrative as he lived in one place, but it does have to do with mixing cultues and it is funny. It's the sequel to _A Year in the Merde_ and is funnier than the first.
