I love to read. I live in Boston MA and find reading helps me get through cold weather: It is a wonderful escape. My Uncle Alfred gave me the book To Kill a Mockingbird when I was about 8 or 9 and I've been hooked on books ever since. I read mostly everything. Historical Fiction and Romance are my favorites, and I enjoy mysteries. ... more »

I'm still in love with Gregory Peck....there's not many like him these days! Did you know that the actress who played Scout called him "Atticus" for the rest of his life? That's just great. I couldn't really handle it when he played Josef Mengele in The Boys from Brazil!

Thanks a lot :) I've been wanting to be part of a reading group for the longest time, but find it impossible to hook up with people in "real time" due to work, kids, etc....I was really happy to find Shelfari, since I can jump on whenever. I have found so many people with similar interests, and enjoy the discussion threads. BTW, To Kill a Mockingbird is one of my favorites of all time...both book and movie!

Dracula as you have never seen him before! (Is that exclamation point really necessary?) (Is he a vampire?) (Does he bite people?) All right, all right, you may have seen SOMETHING like him before. He’s so sexy. (Isn’t he depressed?) Yes, yes, sexy and depressed. (Sexy and depressed?) Shut up! (Is that exclamation point really necessary?) Oh boy!

    Hello

DRACULA: Hearts of Stone This MIGHT be a little like Dracula if written by J. K. Rowling. It’s a place where magic and vampires interweave for an exciting adventure.
It’s a tale of magic, romance and fangs.
We start with a shiny new pot of boiling water and add too many evil vampires, and not enough of the good biters. Toss in one suicidal Dracula; add a cup of mayhem and a dash of romance. Oh yes, and a pinch of mirth. Stir lovingly and you have a new novel by A. J. Gallant. If it sounds like the recipe for you then you must read Dracula: Hearts of Stone.

No characters after the 3 and the 4. I don't see what you're seeing. I did repeat the code the way it should be done and what I see is the stars, one filled and one unfilled.

Dosha, I answered your question about how to make stars in the group but we're so prolific that it is already relegated to the second page. Here's how it's done:

    & # 9 7 3 3 ★ for filled and & # 9 7 3 4 ☆ for open. Don't put any spaces between the characters; I had to do it here so it wouldn't make the stars.

Hi Dosha, I see you are reading The Quilts of Gee's Bend. I was lucky enough to see a display of some of those quilts at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. There was one that was made by the old clothes of the woman's husband who had passed away. She said she wanted to go to sleep each night under a blanket of love. Me and my friend had tears streaming down our faces. It was such a great exhibit. I hope the book is great as well. Happy Holidays.
