Bluejay

Hi everybody,

I am an English teacher from the Netherlands and I love reading (and writing as well). I read everything and anything from cereal boxes to 19th century literature and anything in between. I like talking with people about books we have read and that's why I love being here. more »

    Dear Bluejay,
I love reading and it has been a life-long habit. My problem these days is as soon as I read something, I forget it! I started keeping a reading journal but I misplace it for months at a time. I think it is brain overload. My present read is The Little Friend by Donna Tartt. Funny, two of the first characters I meet are named Libby and Edie - the names of my two daughters. Isn't that interesting. Keep on reading and sharing your opinions of what you've read. Warm Regards, Barbara

Hey BlueJay, for some reason Shelfari will not let me respond to any discussions in the group Greenjackets. I have sent a message to Amanda the admin and hopefully this will get resolved soon. Just giving someone in the group the heads up that I am still hanging around.

Are you enjoying reading The Tain this month. It will be running on into May. The language and being half verse and half prose makes it difficult at times but it will give us some themes to watch out for when we read Beowulf in June.
    Happy Reading

Thank you, Bluejay. I just discovered Shelfari this afternoon, so I have a lot of work to do. I recently started re-reading the Sharpe novels, which is why I joined the Greenjackets' Inn. I look forward to discussing the books.

Thank you for the note. It does seem a good plot, maybe I will get it for a summer read when I have more time to translate it into English as I go.
