This book actually creeped me out and I'm still thinking about it days after I read it....there's nothing like a fatal family drama to cause you to shudder and ponder for days afterwards.

You can't help but like Jack Winter and his adorable little family....I couldn't help but put my 2 little grand nieces faces into the characters of Abby and Charlie....which then made the story that much more intense and disturbing for me since now I cannot seem to keep the girls' faces out of the bad creepy demon story line....so much for creative visualization huh?....

I think what made it worse for me is that Charlie was so stinking adorable and to see her slowly change into a horrifying creature on the inside was simply a huge painful tug on the ole heartstrings. I was sad when Jack was sad for I felt like it was my own child bringing the nightmare from the past into the present and I was helpless to stop it. All I can say is Charlie is one CREEPY little child by the end of the book.....

I was looking for something to 'scare' me and while I wasn't scared so much as I was creeped out.....it still was a fun disturbing read for me and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy a short but very satisfying horror read.

This book was great when it was telling the escapades of Jordin and Maia thru several of the most haunted places in the world.....it even had a few pics that showed the creepy buildings which was fun and helped to make the reader visualize the adventures more realistically.

Then people started disappearing and that was even a bit intriguing because strange supernatural things were happening to Maia and Derek, Jordin's fiance which helped the story to feel like 'maybe' this could really happen.....

Then....the story had to go into 'huge corporation dealing in secretive dealings.....evil is taking control of the world'!....UGH!!!....that really made the story go downhill fast.....big bad demon......super brave heroine.....silly stupid plot line......major disappointment.

I'm still holding out for that one paranormal story that will scare the holy bejeebers out of me......and this one was not it......bummer.

While this book had a bit of a comedic story line and romance was to be found eventually between Anna and Edward....it was really hard to empathize or even sympathize with Anna because she was (to put it bluntly) a whiny snotty beotch....

Anna was never completely satisfied with anything and all she did was complain and find fault with everything in her life. She had a great studio apartment with a concert pianist (Edward) living downstairs from her and basically giving her free concerts every single day. She had some really great friends who really cared about her and wanted her to succeed in her 'mystic' career and her family was also supportive. She had a wonderful mentor for the spiritual side of life but she was just so negative all the time...she could never really enjoy all that she had.

Edward was an adorable and passionate piano geek with crazy red hair....he never seemed to notice or be bothered by Anna's negative streak which caused me to have a hard time believing in the romance between the two. What guy is going to put up with 'bitchiness' 24/7...???

Mozart's ghost was a pretty rude yet entertaining and funny fellow....it would have been fun to have him spend more time in the story causing all kinds of trouble with his silly antics but the author chose to keep him to a minimum even though the book is named after him and his ghost.

All in all....there were some humorous parts and some romance......but the spark was just not there for me. I expected more from this book but I was left with my expectations lacking.

Having read 'The Talisman' and 'Black House' and simply adoring those books I was excited to jump into this book knowing that Peter Straub was the author....

Unfortunately.....this book was nowhere near the incredible stories of the above mentioned books (along with the help of Stephen King these 2 books are fantastic). The story was at times confusing and hard to follow.....there were some pretty entertaining parts such as the mass amounts of chocolate, Coca-Cola, and sugar needed to save Willy from perishing but the continuous use of "Butt-Sex" as the nickname for Timothy Underhill by his so-called 'spiritual advisor' Syrex was just annoying and a bit offensive.

The supernatural aspect of the book started out as a great concept but never did hash out to anything spectacular or fascinating. The book-within-a-book concept was also great in the beginning but ended up just fizzling out with a less than climactic ending.

I really want to read something else of Peter Straub's to find out how his writing can really reach out and grab you.....it just wasn't this book......but I am willing to give him another chance.....'Ghost Story' will probably be the book to do it for me.....

I went into reading this book with the idea that there would be a lot of good 'dirt' on John and Carolyn and if that is what you are looking for...than this is not the book you want to read.

This is a book about John's personal assistant, RoseMarie "Rosie" Terenzio, and how she came to become his assistant and the things she dealt with on a daily basis with being a part of 'George' magazine and the eventual marriage of John & Carolyn and concluding with their tragic deaths.

I think the name of the book was meant to say that this was HER fairy tale and not so much as it being the fairy tale lives of John & Carolyn and how it was taken away from her so abruptly and she was just so lost for a very long time. So it is a memoir of not only JFK and Carolyn but of her and how it shaped her life...so now I understand why she wrote so much about her life in it...

She is a spitfire and if you are not used to the way many New Yorkers can be abrupt and rude....you could be put off by much of what she says and does in the book. If you can look past that and really see what she was feeling in her heart for John & Carolyn.....you would understand the immense love and protective nature she felt for these two people.

Even though John and Carolyn died over 13 years ago....it still really hurt to read about it.....silly me still held the hope that the plane would safely make it to Hyannis....wanting so much to know this couple in 2012.....to see their children and what their careers were. The end of the book was sad to read and you really feel for Rosie when her 'fairy tale' comes to an abrupt end after 5 crazy years....she is so lost and has no idea what to do with her life because she had planned on staying by John's side for life.

She does and has come very far after that fateful day in June of 1999 and she achieves things that she never would have thought she could ever do because of her working with John. She even is thankful for her life and her blessings and when it comes to the end of the day......isn't that what we all want.....just to be happy in whatever we are doing.

This book was interesting and I liked the fact that Rosie didn't trash talk about John and Carolyn but yet still gave a very personal side to them that made me feel like I actually did know these 2 people. This is a good read if you need something quick and easy just don't forget to bring a tissue or two because you just might need them.

This was an enjoyable YA book and I was relieved to find out that no vampires....werewolves.....or nasty monsters were to be found. Just a fun story about a darling gal that has visions and can, predict things, most of the time. She is living with her grandmother who is also a seer because she was labeled a freak at her last school and her parents can't deal with her odd talent. She ends up befriending a couple of other kids who are equipped with their own unique talents and while solving a mystery then end up in a few messes but there is always a way out and the book ends with you waiting for the next book to answer the questions you need answered. I enjoyed this book....fast read.....pleasant, fun characters....and interesting story lines.

I can honestly say that this is the first book to ever cause me to struggle to find the words to describe my thoughts about it. I have thought about it throughout the past few days and I am still at an impasse. I loved the book when it was describing things in an ethereal beautiful way and I hated the book when it would bring out the dark ugly aspects.....so putting that all together I decided to just leave it with 3 stars and realize that some things you just can't put words to....and that's okay.

This was a fast easy read without much of a plot......the characters are all one note.....each with only one emotion to show. Kira is the angry heroine with trust issues........her father is the 'bad guy' pretending to be reformed.......Jack is the love interest/hero trying to be Chuck Norris......with a few 'Matrix' type characters thrown in for fun. It is your 'run of the mill' Bruce Lee movie type story......with the non-surprise ending complete with horses and a sunset.

Nothing to write home about but an okay read if you have nothing else to spend your time on.

After taking a few days to think about this book and what I wanted to say....I have to admit that I'm one that doesn't like to go with the flow on writing reviews......but with this book.......I'm sided with the majority of the readers.

The first two books were good and I liked the second one better because I felt that the main characters had finally come into their game and it was fun to watch them choose their paths and what the outcome would be in each case.

As for this book.....everything was just too easy and simple for them......they struggle and fight and fret about each episode in their travels in the earlier books and then during the third book they just slide into home base without any trouble at all....that tells me that the author was just getting by.....finishing up the book to make his commitment to the publisher. This was really a bummer because it made the book a bit blah and dull. I felt the characters all just ran to the finish line with no pit stops to add some very much needed action and then let's end it on a 'it's a beautiful world and all is right with us' type ending.

I'm not sure I feel cheated but I do know I really was expecting much more from this 3rd book....and it just wasn't there....

This book got to me right from the beginning.....the way the words flowed on the pages.....the imagery of the words.....Barbara Forte Abate writes in a beautiful...fluid language that makes the story seem like you are actually watching it happen instead of reading it. You can smell and hear the ocean and all the happenings going on around it......you can feel the heartbreak from death and despair......you can feel the passion from the lovers' first kiss....the stagnate air in the home causes you to feel claustrophobic....

I cried some pretty big alligator tears during the last chapter of this book for I had been thru the pain that Stevie was going thru at that moment and it was so difficult to breathe knowing how much it hurt....all along hoping and praying that all would turn out well because if it didn't I could not stand to think of trying to go on one more moment in that sadness....that is how good Barbara is at bringing out the emotions needed to understand and really feel moved by this book. I was blown away by her and I loved the way the book ended.....for although not perfect....it was close enough to perfect for me.

Read this book and enjoy the incredible ride Ms. Forte provides for you....
