Librarian by day; cruise director by night.

I've kept a book diary since 1991, so I really know what I've read over the past 15 years.

To have kept a book library since 1991, I wish that I had done that, it actually never crossed my mind and now that my mind's leaving me, I think that I'm reading books that I have already read--and I hate that.

I see you have Ex Libris on your list. I am in the middle of it and have reread the beginning to get all the characters straight. Don't tell me the ending, but did you like the way it turned out?

Hi This sounds like a good collection of short stories. I don't usually like them. I will try this one.

Hi I had to write because you live in New Orleans. And I love the Quarter almost as much as my grandchildren. Also because we have both read Women and New Orleans. This is the first time I have kept a list of the books I have read and it is great.

Hey There. I kept book diaries for years. I finally converted to a computer file a couple years ago. It's been nice to go back and track all those books to build my shelves. Thanks for accepting the invite.

Hi! I joined this group because I'm hoping to find people who might know how I can get books by Paula Volsky. Do you have any suggestions?

I just perused your notes about the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series, and I couldn't agree more. I LOVED the early books. What a shame.

I appreciated your comments about The Canterbury Tales. I'm getting ready to teach this book in a very conservative high school. I am not sure how to handle the earthier tales...I actually wish i could find an edition written for conservative high schools. Any suggestions?

    Hi blathering,

I've added several titles to the Poetry shelf and started several new discussion threads including a thread featuring daily reads so we that we might discover poets and poems we don't know. Hope you will come by.

How was Gibson's Burning Chrome? I've been meaning to get to that. I found you through Godbody.

Hey there, I was just wondering: what's up with the "rex libris" books on your shelf? I've never heard of it (maybe cuz I'm Belgian).
What are they about? Is it some sort of series like HP ?

    Take care,
    Love your name btw,

You have The Debt to Pleasure on your shelf! For this reason alone we must be friends. I almost got thrown out of a book group for making this the monthly read - there were six eight of us and only one person was really speaking to me at the end of the discussion!!!

Hello Blathering! I love that word! Also, I see we share the same first name. Do you enjoy going by Jenny? I never have. How does a book diary work? Do you just write down the names of the books you read and a little comment? That's a cool idea-- I've never heard of that! I'm a language arts teacher so I get to play with books a lot at work, too. Have a great day-- Jen.

You must have kids too although the kid in me adores anything to do with Maurice Sendak. Thanks to your list I now have a couple of books I need to track down. We appear to read many of the same type.

I wish I had kept a book diary... there are so many books that I've forgotten about. I'm enjoying browsing your shelves and discovering books I read so long ago!
