I used to hate reading. In fact, I avoided it at all costs and I can count the number of books I read in high school on one hand. It wasn't until I read the Harry Potter series by JK Rowling that I started to somewhat enjoy reading. The true catalyst for my love of reading, however, was the Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer, which I first read in... more »

I see that you are reading Across the Universe now. That is one I'm really excited about. I'm on the wait list at our library so I've got a bit yet. Looking forward to hearing what you think of it.

Glad that your trip back to school is going well. You can always catch up with books later on. Hope you've managed to read something good...

Finally got round to reading The Hunger Games a few months ago - it was really good.

    Greetings Shelfari friend!

Haven't been around much recently, been a very busy summer (hopefully not over yet either). How did yours go? How are things with you?

I'm on my 70th book so far this year so it's been a pretty good one.

Read anything good recently? Or anything that should be avoided?

I personally have not read books by Bernard Lewis, but looking at the summaries and inside flap, he is very anti-Islam and Middle East. I'm a Muslim and my father is very well versed and well read on the field. So, I don't have any desire to read it. Just my two cents.

Haven't got around to reading The Hunger Games yet, sounds like I should bump it up the to be read list. Except I just made the list longer by buying 2 more books today! I've added Catching Fire to my ever expanding wishlist - thanks for the suggestion!

I know, I haven't been around as much but doing good! Keeping busy w/ work... And making time for good reads! Princess Academy is also very sweet, but I suggest Austenland by Shannon Hale 1st. You'll like that one. How have you been? I miss everyone! I hope you are good!

Jenni how did you like The Goose Girl?? Let me know your thoughts, I am in the middle of Shannon Hale's Princess Academy, and I'm finding it very sweet so far. I am liking it ! I loved Shannon's Austenland and The Book of a Thousnad Days! I'd like to read more of her stuff.

TOTAL SENSE! Trust me...I don't want porn, weird stuff or anything but monogamous relationships. Everyone thinks I'm an old square...I don't care. LOL. Have a great weekend!!!
